Walnut
Deep, chocolate brown with a soft sheen under oil. Reads as furniture more than cabinetry. From $2,350 per linear foot. Every run is cut in sequence from one flitch, boxes are ¾" plywood in the same wood as the fronts, and everything is finished in hardwax oil. Rift sawn for a straight, quiet grain, or flat sawn for more figure. Pale and even, and the wood most people picture when they picture a modern kitchen. From $2,300 per linear foot.
White oak
